Mohamed Elmenyawy was born in the village of Shobra in Gharbia Governorate.
He began his athletic journey in 2018 when he entered the gym at the age of 19, seeking fitness. He discovered his passion for powerlifting, in which he won numerous championships nationwide.
He then met world weightlifting champion Ahmed Gaber, who guided him to Paralympic weightlifting. Mohamed joined the Imbaba Club and quickly joined the Egyptian national team, beginning a glittering international career of excellence in the world and African championships.
His career culminated in a gold medal in the 59 kg weight class at the 2024 Paris Paralympics, etching his name in golden letters among Egypt’s sporting legends.
